Thanksgiving Day!

Thanksgiving weekend was filled with family and friends. Thanksgiving morning I ran in the Kirkwood-Webster Turkey day run in order to honor my high school cross country/track coach upon his retirement...There were easily 50+ people running and cheering in his honor! Thanks for your commitment to the KHS runner Coach Finnerty!

Following the run, I attended Mass with my grandparents for their 54th wedding anniversary. In attendance were many of their children and grandchildren. It was a great time to give thanks for my family! And a time to give thanks to God!
Here's what I took from the homily: "May the peace of Christ control your heart." ~Col. 3:15

That afternoon I went to my aunt Lynn's house to meet up with the entire Carmody crew for the Thanksgiving meal. Here are a few pics of the afternoon!

Happy Thanksgiving

Family and Friends, I want to take a moment to thank God for placing each and every one of you in my life. As the holidays approach, and the academic semester winds down, I am realizing that there are many things I have taken for granted, and that includes each and every one of you.

I know I have been busy, I know God has blessed me with many graces, and I know I have not made the best effort to be in touch with each of you, but know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers constantly.

This holiday season I will continue to thank God for the many graces he has shed upon me, especially in regards to my relationships with you.

May you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Count your blessings.

God Bless,
Love, Lauren

Silent Retreat

Sunrise

This weekend I attended a 24 hour retreat. It was a much needed break for the hustle and bustle of life and the noise I attend to each day at school! ;)

It was just a great time to get away from resAdd Imageponsibility and rest in the presence of the Lord. On the day of the retreat I greatly enjoyed God's creation on my way to and from work. God's beauty is all around us, we just need to stop and gaze at it!

Trip to St. Louis

I went home for the weekend beginning Halloween night. I had the opportunity to catch up with a lot of family at once. On Saturday I caught up with my dad and Francine and Francine's sister, Michelle, and neice, Haley. We went to Crown Candy in St. Louis! It is an old fashion ice cream parlor where the food is great, but the menu for dessert is five times as long as the lunch menu. If you ever have a chance, step back in time and go to this sweet shop!

My Roommate is Engaged!!!

Congrats Anne Marie and Mark!

I found out the Tuesday before that my roommate was going to be engaged over the weekend! I was in St. Louis, but her fiance and her parents planned a surprise party for my roommate Anne Marie on the day of her engagement!

I drove back into KC in time to surprise her with her family and friends, and Mark's family and friends as well! It was an exciting time and will continue to be as they now prepares for the wedding!
